Layout: Dr Luke

Wendy posted an absolutely adorable picture of Luke dressed up in his Mom’s (Allison) lab coat and his play stethoscope.  I couldn’t resist snagging it off of Facebook!  Not too long after that Sweet Digi Scraps came out with an absolutely adorable kit called “The Ick”. It was PERFECT for this picture.  The template was provided for a challenge at Scrap Orchard in January 2013.

This is still one of my favorite layouts!

Layout: Brrr

I’m not a fan of winter or too much snow but sometimes I just can’t help going out with the furkids and my camera.

Kit used for this layout is “Winter Wonderland” by Sweet Digi Scraps and a template from Recyclables 13 by Scrapping With Liz.

Dream Manager Program

Background

This program is based on a book by Matthew Kelly, The Dream Manager.  The books relates the experiences of a fictional company and their efforts to find out what is really driving their employees. The company has high turnover and low morale and wants to find a way to fix these real world problems.  What they discover is that the fulfillment of personal dreams can lead to an employee becoming more engaged in their work environment.
What the book doesn’t tell you is that it is based on a real company in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jancoa Janitorial Services.
Matthew Kelly is a motivational speaker as well as a best-selling author. He is a partner in Floyd Consulting, a management-consulting firm in Chicago.  Floyd Consulting is the force behind the Dream Manager Program.

Miller’s Textile

The president of Miller’s Textile Services heard Matthew Kelly speak at a conference he attended.  Because of that he read several of Matthew’s books, including The Dream Manager.  He began to wonder if this program could help his company reach some of the goals he has set over the years.
All employees were asked to fill out a survey to gauge interest in the program. There was a very strong interest for it to be implemented. Floyd Consulting was brought in to implement the program with the first group of participants starting in January of 2013. To select those participants, an application form was to be submitted indicating why the applicant was interested and what their participation could do to help the company become better.

My Participation

I emphasized on my application that I would like to help my fellow employees live better lives by presenting the workplace version of Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey to them.  I guess that is why I was chosen!
More about my journey through the Dream Manager Program in my next Dream Manager post!

Layout: Christmas 1961

When I was young, the adults in the family would put on a short skit at our Christmas gathering.  My grandma Stoll always had our Christmas and always invited her sister’s family and Grandpa’s sister and her family since they were the only close family living in town. We were still a small group, less than 20 people total.

I used a kit from Sweet Digi Scraps called “Mistletoe” to do this layout commemorating the 1961 skit of “The Night Before Christmas”. I used a template from Scrapping With Liz that is available in her “Recyclables 18” collection.

Layout: Memories of Afghan Knitting

Every winter Mom would knit an afghan. She used the same pattern only doing it in different colors.  She would knit a few rows in the evenings after she had finished fixing dinner, cleaning up (of course, I helped with that) and grading papers.  It usually took several months for her to get one done.  Many of them were gifts for people although I still have several of them.  Her first one for us was shades of orange.  Orange was her favorite color and autumn colors were the “in” colors for decorating in those days. She also made one in scarlet and grey for Dad.  She made one in shades of blue for me when I lived at home. Later when I was in an apartment of my own, she made one in shades of brown.  I still have all 4 of these afghans to this day!

I did this layout to document these memories. The afghan in the picture was made in 1972 and was a gift for my cousin, Jack.  In this picture she was finishing the edges and our dog, Patches, was giving her paw of approval.

I used a kit from Sweet Digi Scraps called “These Memories” and a template from Sweet Digi Scraps “Splitsville” collection.

Layout: Graduation Pictures

I was just ending my CT commitment with Scrapping With Liz when she came out with her Up Close and Personal Templates.  I knew that I wanted to scrap the formal graduation pictures of Dad, Mom and I.  I took all 3 pictures out of their frames and scanned them at a high quality because of using a large picture in the layouts.

For Dad’s picture, I used a kit from Sweet Digi Scraps called “Family History”.

For Mom’s picture, I used a kit from Bella Gypsy called “Yet To Be”.

For my picture, I used a kit from Sweet Digi Scraps called “Lucy Lips”.

I really liked the way they turned out!

Layout: Ugly Shirt Contest

In October of 2011, Miller’s had an ugly shirt contest on Halloween. When Sweet Digi Scraps released her kit, “Toil and Trouble”, I knew I had to scrap these pictures.  I used a template from Scrapping With Liz.

Layout: Smiling

Here’s a layout I did back in September 2012. I used a kit by Sweet Digi Scraps called “Celebrate” and a template from her “Single Serves” collection.

I had to go to a funeral and had dressed up including makeup. I thought it was time to get a new picture of me with my totally grey hair. Even though it was a sad day, it was also a happy day as I got to spend time with family I hadn’t seen for awhile.  That brought about many smiles from all of us since “smiling is infectious!”

WOW, It’s Been Way Too Long!

Didn’t realize that I hadn’t blogged since 2012.  I need to get back into sharing my CT layouts… Yes, I’m still doing CT work for Sweet Digi Scraps. I absolutely love her kits!

2013 was a great year for me in many ways.  I was involved in a program at work called “Dream Manager” and I learned a whole lot about myself in the process.  We are now in year 2 of the program and hopefully even more good stuff is to come! Look for more blogs on that in the coming weeks.  I’ll share some of my 2013 dreams come true with pictures.  Also, some of my future dreams and how my progress on achieving them is going.

Layout: Taking Flight

Sweet Digi Scraps has an awesome collab kit with Kimeric Kreations available at The DigiChick called "Taking Flight". I couldn't resist using it to scrap these pictures of the kids. This is their reaction to the word "treat"! Template is from Scrapping With Liz's Sweet Simple Album 2 Template Kit.

Layout: "Triangle"

Scrapping With Liz has new 8x8 Album Templates available at Scrap Orchard this week. I used them to make this layout. Since I normally scrap in 12x12, I first resized the template. I also used a few of the Capture Life kits by Tracie Stroud, also available at Scrap Orchard.

Layouts: ABC Wapakoneta

I have finally finished my ABC book of Wapakoneta. Thanks to the wonderful Scrapping With Liz for creating such wonderful templates! They were quick and easy to do. I decided to order an 8x8 book from Shutterfly. Look for a blog post on that after I receive it.

Layouts: Calendar Templates

Scrapping with Liz teamed up with Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs to create calendar templates for 2013. The bundle includes 8.5x11 templates, 5x7 mini calendar templates, 8.5x11 calendar grids and 12x12 templates.

I decided to do a 12x12 for a couple of months of pictures that I have taken in the past during those months. After doing just 2, I knew I wanted to do a layout for each month! And, I found a nice 12x12 frame that I can display the monthly layout in during 2013.

Best of all, I've got all of them done!
